My carefree days are over!

I treasure my travelling job especially after all the interview scrutiny I have been through.

I like being a Krisflyer Gold member so that I can breeze through immigration process and luggage collection. I look forward to my monthly trips to get out of the office and see the world, meet more people and explore the different cultures. I thought I would keep travelling and never stop because #YOLO and I would not want to have regrets.

Alas, this is the only thing that could ground me.

I willingly sacrifice my carefree lifestyle and freedom albeit being terrified of the huge transformation in lifestyle. I would want to embrace the change and every step forward would be a new experience for me. This change does not comes easy - Everyday I wake up with the occasional nausea and fatigue, sometimes dizziness too. I feel bloated after every meals and nausea when I am hungry. The worst thing about this is that I still have to travel. And travelling while not feeling perfect is really not so fun.

I tell myself everything is worth it, because I know it will be.

I was asking myself if I should reveal this here because it will totally change my blog's angle and people will stop viewing me as a single, adventurous, happening sales lady. It's not gonna be the same, but this is a huge part of me and I can foresee myself blogging about juggling work and life. The travel posts will not stop, the finances topic may take on heavier responsibilities but that's just me growing old with you.

I am pregnant.

Jes

    1. Hi SS,

Thank you so much for your concern! Besides the morning sickness, I feel pretty good actually. Getting heavier and bigger and embracing the change as it comes. I will definitely take extra care :)

  4. Jes!

    Congrats!

I guessed right when I saw your headline ;)

Coffee tea or me must be smoking his cigar and feeling very smug with himself:

    "Me man! Me power!"

His lonely nights hugging the bolster when you travel are over ;)

    1. Hi Jared,

Haha so smart huh. His nights hugging the bolster will soon be disrupted by a third party. Then when I travel after delivery, he will indeed no longer be lonely :P

  9. Hi Jes,

That is a wonderful news. Congrats! I am really happy for you.

Focus on being happy and be yourself during this period and more importantly, spend more times with your love ones.

I had been traveling a lot in the last decade almost to every continent! It's an incredibly good experience. But if there is one thing more remarkable, it's the birth of my kids!

Hope this generation can catch up with the no. of babies in Singapore! :-)

    1. Hi Rolf,

Thank you for being so happy for me and glad that I could share my joy with you. I hope I will come to enjoy parenthood as much as you do.

I am not counting on this generation as we are getting married and giving birth later and later, haha. Well at least I am doing my part :)
