Stop wasting your time

Stop wasting your youth.

Recently, the conversation between a few friends, colleagues and acquaintances revolved around the same theme - they are waiting to do things at the very last minute. One of my customers have just been served the retrenchment letter. Instead of actively updating her resume and finding a job, she said that she is too busy with her family commitments. The thing is, she knows she has to get a job to sustain her family but why is this not at the top of her priority?

Sometimes, we really do need some reminders.

You may think it's a no brainer for her case. How about my friend who is waiting for headhunters to contact him for jobs? He disliked working in his current company but is not sending out resumes or looking for jobs. He feels that it is better to wait for headhunter to come knocking because the jobs are better and would have higher chances of success. But how long does he needs to wait? I hate people seating on their asses just waiting for things to happen.

Be proactive.

Dear readers, you may also be susceptible to a passive lifestyle. You are too comfortable. I once met an acquaintance who feels that he is too young at 28 years old to have a steady relationship. He still wants to play the field but yet knows that in the end, he will definitely settle down. He has a good vibe with a female friend but has made no moves yet. I told him he is definitely not young anymore, his friend is definitely not going to wait very long. Why not start dating and see how it goes? Why keep dragging his heels and waste time thinking, hesitating, wondering? People regret not trying far more often than failing.

Take things into your own hands.

I probably sounded a bit anxious and scare these people because they took action right after talking to me. I do not regret moving people along. Time has always proved itself to be too short as all of them came right back to thank me for reminding them, for being naggy, for giving them a sense of urgency.

What if there is no tomorrow?

Stop waiting for love to come, for headhunters to contact you, for opportunities to come knocking, for life to begin. Life is too short to be spent on waiting.

It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste. -Henry Ford

  5. Last time I told my wife, finding gf is like finding parking lot. U see few empty initially, then wanted a better lot, eventually no more as u drive further in.

She then told me finding a good guy is like looking for toilet cubicle.

All the clean cubicles are taken only left the last cubicle. When u open the last empty toilet cubicle, it's full of shit!

Enjoy and Merry X Mas ahead!
