The hotel property management system is not necessarily linked to the key card system! (I know this from working in a hotel) <br /><br />A simple human error could have easily caused this when the person checking you into room 308 mistakenly programmed the key card for room 305 and wrote 305 on it instead.<br /><br />Luckily nothing happened to you this time! Having said that, that's not an excuse for such sloppiness.
